Mrs. Blansett is in her thirty-fourth year at South Pittsburg Elementary. She became principal in 2007. She taught third grade, second grade, Title1 Math, and served as assistant principal.Mrs. Blansett received her Bachelor's degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and her Master's from Trevecca Nazarene University.Mrs. Blansett enjoys working with a dedicated staff of professionals at South Pittsburg Elementary, and appreciates the tremendous support from the PTO and community.

Donna is married to Donald Blansett, manager of Marion Natural Gas and Water Works. She has two children, Samantha and Matt, and one grandchild, Luke.

Welcome to South Pittsburg Elementary School. South Pittsburg Elementary School is SACS accredited and the educational opportunities are vast and varied. In addition to the standard academic courses, there is instruction by certified teachers of music, art and physical education.

Each student is provided guidance and emotional support by a trained and qualified counselor and students receive library instruction weekly. An after school program is available, as well as an enrichment program which is provided before each regular school day. This program includes band, Accelerated Reader, reading enrichment, computers and homework help for grades 4 - 6.

We offer 5th and 6th grade basketball, special productions by grade level, band and chorus, which are an integral part of the educational program at South Pittsburg Elementary School.

We welcome and encourage parent and community involvement in our school and our active PTO contributes to the success of the program. Our program is dedicated to the growth of the whole child.
