Do you know where you are going? Since 1939, the Kuder® inventories have directed individuals toward making satisfying career choices. First created as paper assessments by Dr. Frederic Kuder, the Kuder family of products has grown and developed in response to changing needs and technology. The Kuder Career Planning System, now published by National Career Assessment Services, Inc. (NCASI), is an innovative, Internet-based system combining research-based assessments with portfolio development, comprehensive educational and occupational exploration resources, and database management. The Kuder Career Planning System has been customized for Tennessee students as the Edamerica College & Career Planning System, powered by Kuder. It offers a comprehensive solution for career planners at all stages of career development. The system includes the Kuder Career Search with Person Match (interest inventory), Kuder Skills Assessment, Super’s Work Values Inventory-revised, Kuder Career Portfolio, and Kuder Administrative Database Management System. |
As a result of sponsorships, Tennessee students are able to utilize the Kuder Career Planning System at no charge. Currently, all eighth graders in the Marion County system are completing two of the Kuder assessments, exploring careers and learning how to make better career choices. Many of the students in our high schools are continuing their career planning in grades
9-12 by using the Kuder high school curriculum. Informed career planning leads to better high school and college curriculum planning. Parents and students may access the student's assessment results from any computer that has internet access. Parents are encouraged to review their child's assessment results and discuss the importance of career planning with them. Questions concerning this curriculum may be directed to Kay Light, Career & Technical Director, at 942-3434.
